28 latest hospital, health system executive moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported on the following hospital and health system executive moves in the last week.

They are listed below, in alphabetical order.

1. Greenville, N.C.-based Vidant Health selected Niti Armistead, MD, to serve as CMO, effective July 16.

2. Bruce Auerbach, MD, CEO of Attleboro, Mass.-based Sturdy Memorial Hospital, retired June 19, earlier than planned.

3. Wick Baker, president of Vidant Edgecombe Hospital in Tarboro, N.C., plans to retire later this year.

4. Madison-based University of Wisconsin Health, a seven-hospital system, appointed Elizabeth T. Bolt COO.

5. University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City permanently named Cindy J. Dawson, MSN, RN, chief nurse executive.

6. James J. Dickson, CEO of Copper Queen Community Hospital in Bisbee, Ariz., is retiring July 1.

7. Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System appointed Jason Dunkel president and CEO of Florida Hospital North Pinellas in Tarpon Springs, effective immediately.

8. Asheboro, N.C.-based Randolph Health CEO Steven E. Eblin is resigning, effective Oct. 2.

9. Louisville, Ky.-based Baptist Health tapped Larry W. Gray to serve as president of Baptist Health Louisville.

10. David S. Guzick, MD, PhD, senior vice president for health affairs and president of Gainesville-based University of Florida Health, is stepping down July 1.

11. Aspirus Medford (Wis.) Hospital & Clinics selected Dale Hustedt to serve as CEO, effective in July.

12. Metroplex Health System in Killeen, Texas, appointed Dennis Kiley interim president and CEO, effective July 9.

13. Boston-based Steward Health Care System tapped Ruben Jose King-Shaw, Jr. to serve as chief strategy officer, effective June 18.

14. Northern Hospital of Surry County in Mount Airy, N.C., selected Chris A. Lumsden to serve as president and CEO, effective July 23.

15. Atlanta-based Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital selected Thomas P. McGahan, MD, to serve as CMO.

16. Danville, Ky.-based Ephraim McDowell Health appointed Daniel E. McKay president and CEO, effective July 16.

17. Cleveland Clinic appointed Adam Myers, MD, chief of population health and director of Cleveland Clinic Community Care, effective June 18.

18. Bryan, Texas-based CHI St. Joseph Health named Theron Park CEO, effective July 30.

19. Niagara Falls (N.Y.) Memorial Medical Center promoted Anne Passalugo to chief quality and compliance officer.

20. Oklahoma City-based Integris Health, an eight-hospital system, selected Timothy Pehrson to serve as president and CEO, effective Aug. 1.

21. La Crosse, Wis.-based Gundersen Health System appointed Frank Perez-Guerra CEO of Gundersen Moundview Hospital and Clinics in Friendship, Wis., effective in July.

22. Cortez, Colo.-based Southwest Health System appointed Sam Radke interim CFO.

23. University of Wisconsin Health in Madison appointed Chris J. Roth vice president and chief marketing officer.

24. Cullman (Ala.) Regional Medical Center selected William E. Smith, Jr., MD, to serve as its first CMO.

25. St. Louis-based SSM Health appointed Hsieng Su, MD, vice president for medical affairs and CMO for its St. Louis region, effective June 25.

26. Steve Tucker, CEO of Johnstown, Pa.-based Conemaugh Health System, is retiring Sept. 7.

27. Knoxville, Tenn.-based Tennova Healthcare selected Tammy White to serve as permanent CEO of Morristown, Tenn.-based Lakeway Regional Hospital, effective immediately.
