UI Hospitals and Clinics taps 2 nursing leaders as permanent execs: 5 points

University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City permanently named Cindy J. Dawson, MSN, RN, chief nurse executive and Emily K. Ward, BSN, RN, associate chief nurse executive.

1. Since July 2016, Ms. Dawson served as interim chief nursing officer and associate director of UI Hospitals and Clinics while Ms. Ward served as interim associate CNO.

2. Ms. Dawson’s previous roles include director of ambulatory nursing services at UI Hospitals and Clinics’ department of nursing services and patient care.

3. She is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives and American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing.

4. Ms. Ward was previously interim director of the medical and surgical nursing division at UI Hospitals and Clinics.

5. She is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives and American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
