Colorado health system appoints interim CFO 2 months after ousting CEO, 2 execs

Cortez, Colo.-based Southwest Health System appointed Sam Radke interim CFO, according to a hospital news release obtained by The Journal.

Here are three things to know:

1. Mr. Radke holds a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from the Denver-based University of Colorado and has worked with more than 35 hospitals to improve their finances.

2. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and was formerly the president of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

3. Mr. Radke’s appointment comes two months after health system officials ousted the institution’s CFO, CEO, chief nursing officer and chief ambulatory services officer in April, at the time citing the system’s ongoing financial issues.
