15 latest hospital, health system CEO moves

The following hospital and health system CEO moves were reported by Becker's Hospital Review in the last week. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. Minden (La.) Medical Center named Greg Pearson CEO, effective Dec. 5.

2. Lewisville, Texas-based, Adeptus Health appointed Gregory W. Scott interim CEO, effective immediately.

3. Following the unexpected death of its CEO Randall Young, Weatherford, Texas-based Parker County Hospital District's board scheduled an emergency meeting to discuss a temporary management arrangement.

4. Norman (Okla.) Regional Health System appointed Richie Splitt its permanent president and CEO.

5. Whitehall, Wis.-based Gundersen Tri-County Hospital and Clinics CEO Brian Theiler announced his retirement plans.

6. Ramanathan "Ram" Raju, MD, president and CEO of NYC Health + Hospitals plans to step down from his post at the end of the month.

7. Parkland Medical Center in Derry, N.H., selected Jeff Scionti as its new CEO.

8. Jefferson Hospital in Louisville, Ga., named Lou Semrad III interim CEO for the next six months.

9. Christus Mother Frances Hospital-Winnsboro (Texas) named Shelly Johnson, RN, BSN, CEO.

10. Hollywood, Fla.-based Memorial Healthcare System announced a number of leadership changes:
 
•    Zeff Ross is the new executive vice president and CEO for Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.
•    Leah A. Carpenter, RN, was named administrator and CEO of Memorial Hospital West in Pembroke Pines, Fla.
•    Grisel Fernandez-Bravo, MBA, DNP, is the new administrator and CEO of Memorial Hospital Miramar (Fla.).

11. Beckley, W.Va.-based Raleigh General Hospital selected Matt Roberts as its new CEO, effective Nov. 14, 2016.

12. West Des Moines, Iowa-based Mercy Health Network President and CEO David H. Vellinga plans to retire in 2017, ending a 43-year career in healthcare.

13. Elkader, Iowa-based Central Community Hospital appointed Brooke Kensinger CEO.

14. Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville, Ill., an affiliate of Springfield, Ill.-based Memorial Health System, named Harry Schmidt president and CEO.

15. Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, La., announced the retirement of CEO William F. Barrow next year.
