Here are five points:
1. Mr. Scott joined Adeptus Health as an independent director in 2013.
2. Before joining Adeptus, he was co-president of Universal American Corp., a publicly traded healthcare company
3. He also served as CFO of Cypress, Calif.-based PacifiCare Health Systems, which UnitedHealth Group recently acquired.
4. He replaces Thomas Hall, who is retiring. Initially planning to retire by mid-2017, Mr. Hall has since accelerated his retirement due to “recent challenges at the company,” notes a company press release.
5. Adeptus Health includes First Choice Emergency Room, a network of independent freestanding emergency rooms, and First Texas Hospital in Carrollton, a full-service general hospital.
