San Antonio-based Methodist Hospital Landmark has appointed Zach Eaton, DNP, RN, chief nursing officer, effective Aug. 24.
Dr. Eaton returns to Methodist Healthcare after serving as assistant chief nursing officer at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kan.
At Menorah, Dr. Eaton led strategic initiatives focused on patient experience, nursing engagement, operational performance, quality outcomes and workforce development. His work there included efforts to reduce hospital-acquired infections and patient falls and to strengthen emergency department operations.
Dr. Eaton previously served as director of nursing at Methodist Hospital Metropolitan, also in San Antonio, where he led two critical care units, the nursing administrators department and the clinical support resource nurse team. He has more than 14 years of healthcare experience, including 10 years in progressive leadership roles.
Dr. Eaton holds two Transformational Leadership Awards from his tenure at Methodist Hospital Metropolitan and has received multiple AACN Beacon Awards of Excellence, accoridng to an Aug. 21 news release.
