27 recent hospital, health system executive moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported the following hospital and health system executive moves in the last week.

They're listed below, in alphabetical order, by the executive's last name.

1. Lawrence Barnard was named Nevada market leader and president and CEO of Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican's Siena Campus in Henderson, Nev., effective July 1.

2. Eugene Bassett, interim senior vice president of operations and president and CEO of Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican's Siena Campus in Henderson, Nev., retired, effective June 30.

3. Tom Burns, chief nurse executive at Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican's Rose de Lima Campus in Henderson, Nev., took on additional duties, also becoming COO, effective July 1.

4. Wheeling, W.Va-based Wheeling Hospital named Michael Campsey, MD, CMO.

5. Teressa Conley, president and CEO of Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican's Rose de Lima Campus in Henderson, Nev., retired, effective June 30.

6. Andy Crowder will become senior vice president and chief information and analytics officer for Charlotte, N.C.- based Atrium Health July 15.

7. Wailuku, Hawaii-based Maui Health System selected James Diegel to serve as chief strategy officer.

8. South Miami Hospital, part of Miami-based Baptist Health South Florida, has named Bill Duquette to serve as CEO.

9. Justin D. Harris, CEO for Eufaula, Ala.-based Medical Center Barbour, resigned July 8.

10. Bayfront Health St. Petersburg in Florida named Sharon Hayes, BSN, RN, CEO five months after the hospital's former chief and its former CFO unexpectedly resigned.

11. Patti Jurkus, CEO of Centra Bedford (Va.) Memorial Hospital, retired July 5, ending a 10-year tenure.

12. UH Samaritan Medical Center in Ashland, Ohio, selected Timothy Kasprzak, MD, to serve as CMO.

13. Bill Kottman, president and CEO of Edward Hospital in Naperville, Ill., is retiring, effective Sept. 30.

14. Lewiston-based Central Maine Healthcare selected Jason Krupp, MD, to serve as chief physician executive, beginning Aug. 5.

15. Touro hospital in New Orleans named Manuel Linares president and CEO.

16. Dennis Manley, chief nursing officer of Mercy Hospital Joplin (Mo.), is retiring July 26.

17. Bristol, Pa.-based Lower Buckers Hospital named Michael Motte CEO, effective in late June.

18. CHI Saint Joseph Health's Saint Joseph Mount Sterling (Ky.) hospital named Jennifer Nolan president.

19. Scott Pillion, CEO of Helen Newberry (Mich.) Joy Hospital, plans to resign, effective Sept. 27.

20. Roy Proujansky, MD, chief operations executive of the Delaware Valley for Jacksonville, Fla.-based Nemours Children's Health System, is retiring, effective Aug. 7.

21. Gary Pulsipher, president of Mercy Hospital Joplin (Mo.), is retiring July 26.

22. Dayton, Ohio-based Premier Health has appointed Joann Ringer president of Miami Valley Hospital South in Centerville, Ohio, effective immediately.

23. Methodist Hospital South in Jourdanton, Texas, has named Greg Seiler CEO.

24. Las Vegas-based Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican named Kimberly Shaw president and CEO of its San Martín Campus in Las Vegas, effective July 1.

25. Westfield (N.Y.) Memorial Hospital appointed Karen Surkala president, effective July 22.

26. Elaine C. Thompson, president and CEO of Lakeland (Fla.) Regional Health, plans to retire, effective Dec. 31, 2020.

27. Flagstaff-based Northern Arizona Healthcare named Josh Tinkle chief administrative officer of the Flagstaff market, effective in mid-August.
