Which health systems have AI chiefs?

As more hospitals and health systems look to continue to adopt and embrace artificial intelligence, several organizations have appointed dedicated leaders to oversee the implementation of the technology. 

Here are the ten hospitals and health systems with a chief AI officer:

  1. Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai promoted Sumeet Chugh, MD, to serve as vice dean and chief artificial intelligence health research officer. 

  2. New York City-based NYC Health + Hospitals has appointed Divya Pathak as vice president and chief data and artificial intelligence officer.

  3. Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic appointed Micky Tripathi, PhD, as its new chief AI implementation officer.

  4. St. Louis-based Mercy has appointed Byron Yount, Ph.D., as its chief data and artificial intelligence officer.

  5. Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai named Mouneer Odeh as its inaugural chief data and artificial intelligence officer.

  6. Cleveland Clinic has named Ben Shahshahani, PhD, formerly with SiriusXM, as its first vice president and chief artificial intelligence officer.

  7. Richmond, Va.-based VCU Health has named Alok Chaudhary as its new vice president, chief data and artificial intelligence officer. 

  8. Washington, D.C.-based Children’s National Hospital has named Alda Mizaku as its new vice president and chief data and artificial intelligence officer. 

  9. UC San Diego Health named Karandeep Singh, MD, as its inaugural chief health artificial intelligence officer in December.

  10. San Francisco-based UCSF Health named Sara Murray, MD, as its chief health AI officer.
