17 recent hospital, health system executive moves

The following hospital and health system executive moves were announced or made in the last week. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. Eric Evans, CEO of El Paso, Texas-based Sierra Providence Health Network, is leaving to lead Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare's Texas Region.

2. Kevin Walstrom, Vancouver, Wash.-based PeaceHealth's CFO, will leave the system May 7.

3. Cullman (Ala.) Regional Medical Center named James Clements president and CEO.

4. Victoria, Texas-based Citizens Medical Center CEO Stephen Thames will step down from his position following negotiations Thursday morning for a mutual separation agreement with hospital board members.

5. R. Jason Thurman, MD, was recently named CMO of two TriStar hospitals: Hendersonville (Tenn.) Medical Center and Nashville, Tenn.-based Skyline Medical Center.

6. Coffeyville (Kan.) Regional Medical Center named Mark Woodring, PhD, CEO, effective May 18.

7. Irvine, Calif.-based St. Joseph Health named Jack L. Cox, MD, senior vice president and CMO.

8. St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Ga., named Kirk Wilson interim president and CEO.

9. Ralph Prows, MD, president and CEO of Oregon's Health CO-OP in Portland, will resign in June to become president of Ochsner Health Network, part of Kenner, La.-based Ochsner Health System.

10. Michael McEachern, CEO of Bowie (Texas) Memorial Hospital, resigned. He will depart from the hospital in mid-May.

11. Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System announced the appointment of James F. Dover as president and CEO of the system's Southern Illinois Division, effective May 26.

12. Walnut Creek, Calif.-based John Muir Health announced three recent changes within its senior leadership team. Michael Moody, who served as CFO from 2006 to 2014, was named senior vice president of partnership integration and development. Chris Pass will serve as John Muir Health's interim CFO and Jim Wesley, John Muir Health's CIO, will transfer the role to his successor, Jon Russell, the system's new senior vice president and CIO.

13. Linda Brown, executive director of Silverdale, Wash.-based The Doctors Clinic, retired April 10 after 16 years at the helm.

14. John Comstock, president and CEO of Cherokee (Iowa) Regional Medical Center, announced plans to retire in September.

15. Bellevue, Wash.-based Overlake Medical Center named Tom DeBord COO, effective May 4.

16. Larry Goodman, DO, CMO of Steamboat Springs, Colo.-based Yampa Valley Medical Center, retired March 31 after serving the hospital for more than 30 years.

17. Medical Center of McKinney (Texas) named Aaron Rowe CFO.
