Currently, Dr. Penso serves as president of the AMGA Foundation as well as chief medical and quality officer of AMGA.
Dr. Penso previously served as medical director of continuum of care for Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group, an integrated healthcare delivery system in San Diego. He also served on the Integrated Healthcare Association’s board of directors and has chaired the Technical Quality Committee for California’s Pay for Performance program. He is currently on the board of the Pharmacy Quality Alliance.
Dr. Penso holds an MBA from San Diego State University and a medical degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
