Bob Baxter to serve as Mercy Health-Toledo’s permanent CEO

Cincinnati-based Mercy Health appointed Bob Baxter permanent president and CEO of Mercy Health-Toledo (Ohio), effective Oct. 4.

Mr. Baxter has been interim leader of Mercy Health-Toledo since June. He is also president and CEO for Mercy Health-Lima (Ohio). He will serve in a dual leadership role at both entities.

Mr. Baxter worked at Mercy Health since 2010, prior to which he was vice president of operations and COO at Regional Health Rapid City (S.D.) Hospital. He is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

“Bob’s expertise in driving amazing patient care, operational excellence and employee engagement will help position Northwest Ohio for continued, ongoing success,” said Brian Smith, COO of Mercy Health.
