30 latest hospital, health system executive moves

The following hospital and health system executive moves were reported by Becker's Hospital Review since Oct. 1. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. Jim Krauss, corporate vice president of Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Healthcare and president of Harrisonburg, Va.-based Sentara RMH Medical Center, is retiring.

2. Mike Fenello has been named site administrator for Twin Falls, Idaho-based St Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center.

3. Atlanta-based Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital named Heather Dexter CEO.

4. Tim McGill was named CEO of Livingston (Tenn.) Regional Hospital, part of Gallatin, Tenn.-based HighPoint Health System.

5. Randy Hoover, interim CEO of Oconee Regional Medical Center in Milledgeville, Ga., resigned.

6. Dan Wolterman, president and CEO of Houston-based Memorial Hermann Health System, is retiring.

7. Melvyn Patashnick, president and CEO of Morrisville, Vt.-based Copley Health Systems, is retiring.

8. Jim Angle, CEO of Boise, Idaho-based St. Luke's East Region, resigned.

9. Pecos County Memorial Hospital in Fort Stockton, Texas, hired Sharon Hunt to serve as part-time interim CFO.

10. Milwaukee-based Aurora Health Care named Preston Simons CIO.

11. Bob Sutton, president and CEO of Avera Saint Mary's Hospital in Pierre, S.D., was promoted to executive vice president and chief human resources officer for the hospital's parent company, Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Avera.

12. Dennis Kelly, CEO of Bayonne, N.J.-based CarePoint Health, is leaving his post.

13. Houston-based Memorial Hermann Health System appointed Kyle Stanzel vice president of operations at Memorial Hermann Cypress (Texas) Hospital, which is currently under construction.

14. The Queen's Health Systems in Honolulu appointed Jason Chang as its new executive vice president and COO.

15. The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C., named George Sprinkel CFO.

16. Denver-based HCA-HealthONE appointed Dan Miller president and CEO of The Medical Center of Aurora (Colo.).  

17. John Prout, CEO of Cincinnati-based TriHealth, has begun a three-month medical leave after undergoing heart surgery. During Mr. Prout's leave, TriHealth President Mark Clement has been named interim CEO.

18. James "Jim" Davidson will become CEO of Russellville, Ark.-based Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center, part of Franklin, Tenn.-based Capella Healthcare, at the beginning of November.

19. Robert "Bob" Mayo, co-founder of Cancer Treatment Centers of America and vice chairman of its board of directors, announced his retirement from his post.

20. Bryan, Texas-based St. Joseph Health System named Rick Napper market president.

21. Chris Bjornberg, CEO of Friend (Neb.) Community Healthcare System, turned in his resignation.

22. Rockledge, Fla.-based Health First made several key leadership changes. Sean Gregory, who joined Health First in November 2012 as president of Health First's Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Fla., will become CEO of Holmes Regional. He also will become the service line leader for orthopedics and neurology. Aaron Robinson, who joined Health First in July 2014 as system vice president of outpatient and wellness, will become CEO of Health First's community hospitals. He will continue to be the service line leader for oncology services. 

23. Ken Krakaur, president of Third Core and long-time executive with Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Healthcare, will retire Jan. 1, 2016.

24. Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany, Ind., named Daniel Eichenberger, MD, CEO.

25. Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford named Jim Shmerling president and CEO.

26. Gene Green, MD, was named president and CEO of South Shore Health and Educational Corp., the charitable health system that comprises Weymouth, Mass.-based South Shore Hospital, South Shore Physician Ambulatory Enterprise, Health Provider Services Organization and South Shore Hospital Charitable Foundation.

27. Mike Olson, administrator of American Fork (Utah) Hospital, part of Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare, is leaving his position.

28. Miguel Treviño Jr., CEO of Laredo, Texas-based Gateway Community Health Center, is retiring after 48 years of service.

29. Royal Oak, Mich.-based Beaumont Health appointed Susan Grant, RN, BSN, executive vice president and CNO.

30. Loma Linda (Calif.) University Children's Hospital named two new officials. Scott Perryman was named senior vice president and administrator, while Richard Chinnock, MD, became CMO of the children's hospital Aug. 25.
