Friend Community Healthcare CEO resigns: 4 things to know

Chris Bjornberg, CEO of Friend (Neb.) Community Healthcare System, turned in his resignation, according to a Seward County Independent report.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Bjornberg.

1. Mr. Bjornberg accepted a CEO position at an unspecified hospital in Idaho. His last day will be Oct. 16.

2. In the report, Mr. Bjornberg said he enjoyed his time in Friend but chose to return to Idaho to be closer to family members who are experiencing some health issues.

3. The hospital experienced numerous changes during Mr. Bjornberg’s tenure, including a new name, branding, a new website and an EMR upgrade.

4. The hospital board hopes to immediately find an interim replacement for Mr. Bjornberg.
