Aurora Health Care names Preston Simons CIO: 5 things to know

Aurora Health Care, based in Milwaukee, has named a new CIO.

Here are five things to know about Preston Simons.

1. Prior to joining Aurora, Mr. Simons was the CIO of Abbott Laboratories, based in North Chicago, for a decade.

2. At Abbott Laboratories, he led the company’s IT department and was responsible for a number of IT functions at the company’s spin-off Abbvie..

3. Mr. Simons also has experience serving as an IT leader at a number of health systems, a health plan and in the pharmaceutical industry.

4. He completed his bachelor’s degree at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and earned his master’s degree from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago.

5. “I look forward to contributing to an organization that focuses on using innovation to find better ways to provide healthcare and help people live well,” said Mr. Simons. “I’m excited to have the opportunity to work with Aurora leadership and professionals across the organization to use new technologies to continue to enhance the patient experience.”
