The Queen's Health Systems names Jason Chang executive VP, COO: 5 things to know

The Queen's Health Systems in Honolulu has appointed Jason Chang as its new executive vice president and COO, according to a Pacific Business News report.

Here are five things to know about Mr. Chang.

1. He begins at Queen's on Oct. 12.

2. He said he was attracted to Queen's due to its "tremendous investment and growth," including its expansion from a two-facility to four-hospital system, according to the Pacific Business Journal.

3. He has experience in hospital and health system management as well as ambulatory service and clinical program development.

4. He has done the following, according to the report.

  • Overseen quality and service improvement initiatives
  • Managed tertiary/quaternary services in a teaching hospital environment
  • Developed physician networks and clinical integration

5. He most recently was CEO of the McAllen (Texas) Heart Hospital and Edinburg-based South Texas Health System, a five-hospital, $800 million regional health system, for the past two years. He also took an additional interim CEO role at the McAllen Medical Center in January.
