Jake McCarty has been appointed president of CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center-Bergan Mercy in Omaha, Neb., effective Sept. 8.
Mr. McCarty joins CHI Health, a member of Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health, after nearly 20 years in healthcare leadership, according to an Aug. 19 hospital news release shared with Becker’s.
He most recently served as COO of Kaiser Permanente’s San Leandro (Calif.) Medical Center. He has also held leadership roles at San Joaquin General Hospital in French Camp, Calif., and Children’s Health of Northern California in Saratoga.
Until Mr. McCarty starts, Barb Leonard, vice president of operations, will continue serving as interim president.
CHI Health’s Midwest region includes 28 hospitals and 200 clinics across Nebraska, southwest Iowa, North Dakota and Minnesota.
