9 recent hospital, health system CEO moves

Becker’s Hospital Review reported the following hospital and health system CEO moves in the last week.

1. John F. Collins, president and CEO of NYU Winthrop Hospital in Mineola, N.Y., plans to retire, effective Nov. 30.

2. Lansing, Mich.-based Sparrow Health System named James F. Dover president and CEO, effective June 17.

3. Billings (Mont.) Clinic fired CEO Randall Gibb, MD, effective May 21.

4. Larry Goodman, MD, CEO of Chicago-based Rush University System for Health and Rush University Medical Center, retired May 15.

5. St. David’s South Austin (Texas) Medical Center named Charles Laird CEO, effective May 1.

6. Southern Hills Hospital & Medical Center in Las Vegas appointed Alexis Mussi its first female CEO, effective May 16.

7. Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare named Stephen Porter CEO of Piedmont Fayette Hospital in Fayetteville, Ga., effective June 24.

8. Peggy Schmitt, BSN, RN, president and CEO of North Kansas City (Mo.) Hospital and its subsidiary Meritas Health, is retiring at the end of the year after 25 years of service.

9. Glen Washington, CEO of Point Pleasant, W. Va.-based Pleasant Valley Hospital, has retired, effective May 17.
