1. Bethlehem, Pa.-based St. Luke's University Health Network promoted Dennis Pfleiger to president of its Quakertown (Pa.) Campus.

2. Durham, N.C.-based Duke University Hospital named Thomas A. Owens, MD, president, effective Jan. 1, 2018.

3. Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-All Saints in Racine, Wis., selected Kristin McManmon to serve as president.

4. Karen McCall, chief marketing officer of Chapel Hill, N.C.-based UNC Health Care, retired Dec. 1.

5. Peg Kennedy, vice president and chief nursing executive at Fremont (Neb.) Health, is retiring.

6. Ottumwa (Iowa) Regional Health Center tapped Dennis Hunger to serve as COO.

7. Nashville, Tenn.-based Saint Thomas Health appointed Brad Hull CFO of regional hospitals.

8. Barry Gross, MD, Newport News, Va.-based Riverside Health System's executive vice president and CMO, will leave his roles in 2018.

9. Kenmore (N.Y.) Mercy Hospital appointed Walter Ludwig president and CEO, effective at the beginning of 2018.

10. Pleasanton, Calif.-based Stanford Health Care-ValleyCare named David Svec, MD, CMO.

11. Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Mass., appointed Frances Gomes Marthone, PhD, RN, chief nursing officer.

12. Albuquerque, N.M.-based Lovelace Health System selected Gary L. Whittington to serve as CFO, effective Jan. 3, 2018.

13. Emmetsburg, Iowa-based Palo Alto County Health System appointed Brent Antczak administrator and CEO, effective Jan. 2, 2018.

14. Newport News, Va.-based Riverside Health System selected Michael Dacey, MD, to serve as executive vice president and chief clinical operations officer, effective Jan. 22, 2018.

15. Dignity Health-Community Hospital of San Bernardino (Calif.) hired Andrew Fragen, MD, to serve as CMO, effective Dec. 11.

16. J. Anthony Rose, president and CEO of Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, N.C., is retiring at the end of December.

17. Community Health Network, based in Indianapolis, appointed David Kiley, MD, permanent president of its south region.

18. Houston-based Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital selected Hannah Gelbs to serve as COO.

19. Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Health System selected Kevin W. Sowers, MSN, RN, FAAN, to serve as president of the health system as well as executive vice president of Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Medicine, effective Feb. 1, 2018.
