Kenmore Mercy Hospital taps Walter Ludwig to serve as CEO

Kenmore (N.Y.) Mercy Hospital appointed Walter Ludwig president and CEO, effective at the beginning of 2018. He will succeed James Millard, who is retiring.

Mr. Ludwig currently serves as the hospital’s COO, a role he has held since 2009. He previously served as vice president of the WNY Purchasing Alliance. His prior experience also includes leadership roles at Buffalo, N.Y.-based Kaleida Health, where he served as president of Williamsville, N.Y.-based Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital and North Tonawanda, N.Y.-based DeGraff Memorial Hospital.

During his tenure as COO of Kenmore Mercy, Mr. Ludwig helped lead a campus reconfiguration project, which included the building of a new emergency department and knee and hip center.
