12 latest hospital, health system executive retirements

Becker's Hospital Review reported on the following hospital and health system executive retirements in the last four weeks.

They are listed below, in alphabetical order.

1. Memphis, Tenn.-based Le Bonheur Children's Hospital President and CEO Meri Armour is retiring in 2019.

2. Gary Fammartino, president of St. Vincent Fishers (Ind.) and St. Vincent Carmel (Ind.) hospitals, is retiring Jan. 1, 2019.

3. Jackson, Mich.-based Henry Ford Allegiance Health President and CEO Georgia Fojtasek will retire in 2019.

4. LaGrange-based WellStar West Georgia Medical Center President Jerry Fulks is retiring Jan. 11, 2019.

5. Richard Gilfillan, MD, CEO of Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health, will depart from the system in June 2019.

6. Paul Janke, president and CEO of Coos Bay, Ore.-based Bay Area Hospital, is retiring in early January 2019.

7. John Knox, CEO of St. Luke's Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, plans to retire at the end of the year.

8. Hillsboro (Kan.) Community Hospital CEO Marion Regier is retiring.

9. David Scarpino, president and CEO of Kingston, N.Y.-based HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley, will retire Dec. 31.

10. Tom Smith, MD, vice president of medical affairs and CMO of Hutchinson (Kan.) Regional Medical Center, is retiring.

11. Gerald Worrick, president and CEO of Sturgeon Bay, Wis.-based Door County Medical Center plans to retire Jan. 5.

12. Jamestown, N.Y.-based UPMC Chautauqua President and CEO Betsy Wright is retiring Dec. 31, ending a 35-year career in healthcare.
