8 Recent Women's Health Center Openings and Service Expansions

Here are eight recent women's health center openings and service expansions that have occurred or been announced in the past two months, starting with the most recent.

1. Richmond-based Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center put the finishing touches on a $23 million upgrade to its labor and delivery unit.

2. Houston-based Texas Children's Hospital opened a Texas Children's Health Plan facility for women and children.

3. Billings (Mont.) Clinic began creating a center for breast health on the second floor of its existing facilities.

4. Royal Oak, Mich.-based Beaumont Health System opened a comprehensive breast care program at a new facility in Royal Oak.

6. The medical school at Memphis-based University of Tennessee announced plans to build a $200 million women's and children's hospital with Memphis-based Regional Medical Center.

7. Rochester, Minn.-based Olmsted Medical Center started construction this week on its new $25 million Women's Health Pavilion.

8. St. Helena (Calif.) Hospital began a maternity ward renovation and expansion as part of its $20 million, facility-wide remodel.
