Trinity Health Of New England taps Mark Fulco as Mercy Medical Center president

Hartford, Conn.-based Trinity Health Of New England named Mark Fulco president of Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Mass., and its affiliates, effective Oct. 9, according to a Mass Live report.

Mr. Fulco takes over from Mary Elizabeth O’Brien, RN, who has been serving as interim president since April. She succeeded Scott Wolf, DO, who resigned abruptly.

Mr. Fulco served as system vice president for health ministries and system office communication interface at Trinity Health in Livonia, Mich., the parent company of Trinity Health Of New England, since 2016. In this role, he was a liaison between Trinity Health’s corporate office and Trinity’s regional systems.

In 2005, Mr. Fulco came to Mercy Medical Center as senior vice president of strategy and marketing. He was named chief transformation officer of the medical center in 2015. During his time at Mercy, he was instrumental in establishing the Mercy Care Alliance clinically integrated network.

The American College of Healthcare Executives awarded Mr. Fulco the 2010 Management Innovation Poster Session Award, according to the report.
