Ronald DePinho, MD. President of University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston). Dr. DePinho earned a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Fordham University in New York, where he graduated summa cum laude as class salutatorian, and his medical degree with distinction in microbiology and immunology from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, also in New York. Prior to joining MD Anderson, Dr. DePinho held multiple faculty positions for a decade at Einstein where he established the first National Cancer Institute-supported shared transgenic and gene targeting facility, which allowed his laboratory and other researchers to model and evaluate the genetic foundations of cancer and other complex diseases. Dr. DePinho is a fellow with the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Association for Cancer Research Academy.
