Michael J. Dowling. President and CEO of Northwell Health (Great Neck, N.Y.). In his role as CEO, Mr. Dowling oversees New York’s largest integrated healthcare system and the state’s largest private employer with a total workforce of about 61,000. Mr. Dowling, who grew up in Limerick, Ireland, became president and CEO of North Shore-LIJ in 2002 and previously served as the system’s executive vice president and COO. North Shore-LIJ rebranded to Northwell Health in 2016. Mr. Dowling served in New York State government for more than 10 years, including seven years as state director of Health, Education and Human Services and deputy secretary to the governor.
