Dr. Asif chairs the department of medicine at the hospital, a role he will continue to serve in. A nephrologist, he was previously chief of nephrology and hypertension and a professor of medicine at Albany (N.Y.) Medical College. He has also served as chief of interventional nephrology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Dr. Asif also has served as president of the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology.
In addition to his medical training, he has earned an MBA and a master’s degree in healthcare management from Cambridge, Mass.-based Harvard University.
