Health systems are rapidly reshaping their executive teams, adding new C-suite roles focused on analytics, digital strategy and AI as technology becomes central to operations and care delivery.
Here are new IT roles hospitals and health systems have added to their C-suites, as reported by Becker’s since Jan. 29:

- UT Dell Medical Center (Austin, Texas) named Hongfang Liu, PhD, has been its inaugural chief translational AI and informatics officer.
- Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (Colton, Calif.) appointed Andrea Daugherty as its inaugural chief information and digital transformation officer.
- University of Utah Health (Salt Lake City) named Kensaku Kawamoto, MD, PhD, as its inaugural chief health AI transformation officer.
- Bon Secours Mercy Health (Cincinnati) appointed Dylan Clark as its first chief analytics and AI officer, a newly created role within the health system. He will oversee data, analytics and artificial intelligence strategies for the organization.
- Cottage Health (Santa Barbara, Calif.) appointed Ryan Kelly, PhD, inaugural chief innovation officer. He will be responsible for strategy and operations at the Compton Center for Medical Excellence and Innovation at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
- Michigan Medicine (Ann Arbor) appointed Anika Gardenhire, RN, its inaugural chief digital and information officer. Ms. Gardenhire previously served as chief digital and transformation officer at Nashville, Tenn.-based Ardent Health.
