HCA Board elects CEO R. Milton Johnson chairman

Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America has announced its CEO, R. Milton Johnson, will become chairman of HCA’s board of directors, effective Dec. 31, 2014.

Mr. Johnson has served in numerous financial and executive leadership positions since first joining the company in 1982. Before becoming president and CEO in January 2014, Mr. Johnson served as president and CFO from 2011 through 2013 and executive vice president and CFO from 2004 to 2011. Additionally, he has served as HCA’s director since 2009.

“As a longtime HCA veteran and executive leader, Milton has a keen understanding of hospital operations and a strong commitment to HCA’s patients-first culture,” said Richard M. Bracken, the outgoing chairman of HCA’s board of directors. “He is ideally suited to lead HCA to continued success.”
