CEO of Atlantic Health System to retire

Joseph Trunfio, PhD, president and CEO of Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic Health System, has announced his retirement, according to an NJ.com report.

Dr. Trunfio will serve until the health system names a replacement, according to the report. The board is currently conducting a national search.

Dr. Trunfio has led the five-hospital system for 15 years. During his tenure, the system grew from 5,000 employees to approximately 14,000 and revenues grew from $750 million in 1999 to roughly $2 billion today.
