Henry Ford CEO Nancy Schlichting to retire, Wright Lassiter named president

Detroit-based Henry Ford Health System CEO Nancy Schlichting has announced she will retire from her role in Dec. 2016.

Oakland, Calif.-based Alameda Health System CEO Wright L. Lassiter will join Henry Ford as president, effective Dec. 15,

Mr. Lassiter has offered to stay on the executive board at AHS until Dec. 12, 2014.

Ms. Schlichting is lauded for leading Henry Ford through a significant financial turnaround and for her award-winning patient safety, customer service and diversity initiatives.

Mr. Lassiter joined AHS as CEO in 2005 and led the health system in its expansion and growth. Some of his accomplishments include a $70 million reduction of AHS debt, the addition of two hospitals to its emerging healthcare network, San Leandro Hospital and Alameda Hospital and designation by The Joint Commission as Top Performer status with increased patient engagement from the 1st percentile to the 80th percentile.
