Mr. Kaufmann will succeed George Barrett, who will continue to serve in the position through Cardinal Health’s annual shareholders meeting in November 2018.
Officials said Jorge Gomez, senior vice president and CFO of Cardinal Health’s medical segment, will replace Mr. Kaufmann as CFO.
