29 latest hospital, health system executive moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported on the following hospital and health system executive moves in the last week. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. New York City-based NYC Health + Hospitals hired Kevin Lynch to serve as senior vice president and CIO, effective in January.

2. DuBois, Pa.-based Penn Highlands Healthcare selected Tarun K. Ghosh as its new CFO.

3. Norwalk, Ohio-based Fisher-Titus Health system appointed Matthew Gross CEO, effective Dec. 1.

4. Florence, S.C.-based McLeod Health appointed Deborah D. Locklair chief human resources officer.

5. Mercy Health Toledo (Ohio) tapped Jim Weidner to serve as COO.

6. Saint Luke's North Hospital, with locations in Kansas City, Mo., and Smithville, Mo., appointed Adele Ducharme permanent CEO.

7. Muleshoe (Texas) Area Medical Center tapped Ginger Yaeger, RN, to serve as chief nursing officer.

8. Ivan Mazzorana, MD, CMO of Fort Myers, Fla.-based Park Royal Hospital resigned citing "different philosophies" with the hospital's administration over patient care.

9. Jayne Van Bramer has been selected to serve as CEO of Lancaster (Pa.) Behavioral Health Hospital, which is still under construction and set to open in summer 2018.

10. Nashville, Tenn.-based Ardent Health Services tapped Frank J. Campbell, MD, to serve as CMO.

11. Baptist Health Paducah (Ky.) made interim President Chris Roty's appointment permanent.

12. CHI Health St. Elizabeth in Lincoln, Neb., selected Derek Vance to serve as president.

13. Duarte, Calif.-based City of Hope, a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, appointed Michael Caligiuri, MD, physician-in-chief and president of City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte.

14. The Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services appointed Brett M. Johnson CEO of Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital in Toledo.

15. State College, Pa.-based Mount Nittany Health selected Nirmal Joshi, MD, to serve as system CMO.

16. Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital in South Boston, Va., tapped Torie Bashay, BSN, RN, to serve as vice president of patient care service and chief nurse executive.

17. Commonwealth Health's Berwick (Pa.) Hospital Center selected Thomas Neal, RN, to serve as permanent CEO.

18. Seattle-based Swedish Health Services selected:

•    Jeffery Robert to serve as COO.
•    Chris Dale, MD, to serve as chief quality officer.
•    Jennifer McAleer to serve as chief compliance and privacy officer.
•    Mike Denney to serve as chief real estate officer.

19. Dignity Health-St. Bernardine Medical Center, a 342-bed facility in San Bernardino, Calif., named Kurt Weinmeister COO.

20. St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton, N.J., selected David Ricci to serve as interim president.

21. St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Ga., made interim CEO Dan Jones' appointment permanent, effective immediately.

22. Robert Eardley, the senior vice president, CIO and chief information security officer at Houston Methodist Hospitals in Texas, will replace Joy Grosser as CIO at Cleveland-based University Hospitals, effective Feb. 19, 2018.

23. Appleton, Wis.-based ThedaCare selected Vicky Barnthouse, MSN, to serve as chief nursing executive.

24. Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare tapped Sandi Karrmann to serve as senior vice president and chief human resources officer, effective immediately.

25. Jeff Patterson, CEO of Nacogdoches (Texas) Medical Center, is stepping down from his role to take on a new position, effective Dec. 29.

26. Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County in Rock Springs, Wyo., appointed Tami Love CFO.
