The organization’s board decided to restructure the president and CEO role at Fisher-Titus, dividing it into two separate positions — CEO of the Fisher-Titus Health system and president of Fisher-Titus Medical Center. Lorna Strayer had most recently served as the organization’s president and CEO. She will retire in 2018. Mr. Gross will serve as transitional CEO, working with Ms. Strayer until she retires. The board is also searching for a new medical center president.

“As CEO of Fisher-Titus Health, Matt will oversee the entire system organization and entities with focus on financial performance, strategic initiatives, and key business relationships,” said Dennis Doughty, vice chairman of the Fisher-Titus Board of Directors. “The future president of Fisher-Titus Medical Center will concentrate on and manage hospital and Medical Center operations, quality, safety, and medical ancillary performance.”

Mr. Gross has served on the Fisher-Titus board of directors for nine years, and for the last three and a half, he served as the board’s chairman. He will step down from the board.

Mr. Gross has three decades of experience in leadership positions at Fortune 500 companies, retiring from RR Donnelley/Moore Wallace as president of North American sales in 2008. He previously served as a member of the American Hospital Association Committee on Governance and is currently a member of The Governance Institute.
