CMO of Florida psychiatric hospital resigns over “philosophical” differences with leadership: 5 notes

Ivan Mazzorana, MD, CMO of Fort Myers, Fla.-based Park Royal Hospital resigned citing “different philosophies” with the hospital’s administration over patient care, according to a News-Press report.

1. Dr. Mazzorana had served in his current role since 2012, when the inpatient psychiatric facility opened.

2. He told the News-Press, “The reasons for leaving Park Royal Hospital were, basically, different philosophies regarding patient care.” He did not add any specific details.

3. He will continue his private practice in Fort Myers.

4. Staff psychiatrist Jorge Diaz, MD, will take over as interim CMO.

5. Franklin, Tenn.-based Acadia Healthcare owns Park Royal Hospital.
