CHI Health St. Elizabeth names Derek Vance president: 5 things to know

CHI Health St. Elizabeth in Lincoln, Neb., selected Derek Vance to serve as president, according to a Lincoln Journal Star report.

Here are five things to know:

1. Mr. Vance will also serve as president of Nebraska Heart Hospital in Lincoln, part of Omaha, Neb.-based CHI Health.

2. He most recently served as CEO of LewisGale Hospital in Pulaski, Va.

3. He succeeds Kim Moore, who retired in July. Cary Ward, MD, CHI Health’s CMO, stepped in to serve as interim president.

4. Mr. Vance takes over the organization while it is recovering from financial difficulties over the last few years and an insurance contract dispute that was resolved earlier this year.

5. Mr. Vance holds a master’s degree in health administration from The Ohio State University in Columbus.
