How Apple, Microsoft & 5 other health IT companies fared financially in Q1

Here are insights on seven health information technology companies’ quarterly financial performances.

1. Google’s parent company Alphabet posted financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2019, recording a 17 percent increase in revenues year over year to $36.3 billion.

2. For the first quarter of 2019, Amazon‘s net income increased to $3.6 billion compared to $1.6 billion in the first quarter of 2018.

3. Wearables, home and accessories contributed to $5 billion of Apple‘s revenue, a 66 percent increase from $3.9 billion during the same period last year.

4. Fitbit posted $272 million in revenue, up 10 percent from $247 million during the same time last year.

5. Microsoft reported $30.6 billion in revenue for the third quarter of fiscal year 2019, which ended March 31. This represents a 14 percent increase year over year.

6. Philips reported approximately $4.7 billion in sales for the first quarter of 2019, a 2 percent year-over-year increase.

7. Teladoc posted $128.5 million in revenue for the first quarter of 2019, up 43 percent from $89.64 million in the same period last year.
