17 RCM service expansions in October

Here are 17 revenue cycle management portfolio expansions involving healthcare vendors and providers in October.

1. Altarum, an Ann Arbor, Mich.-based nonprofit research and consulting firm, revealed four new value-based analytics platforms.

2. Brightree, an Atlanta-based health IT company focused on the post-acute care sector, unveiled an automated patient-pay service for home medical equipment providers, called Lockbox.

3. Quadax, a healthcare IT and revenue cycle company in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, expanded its Xpeditor software suite with contract management functionality.

4. The Maryland Health Care Commission created an online tool to help patients compare cost and quality differences between hospitals across the state.

5. Medsphere Systems Corp., a Carlsbad, Calif.-based health IT solutions provider, and Stockell Healthcare Systems, a Chesterfield, Mo.-based revenue cycle management provider, agreed to merge.

6. The merger of healthcare services company mCare Solutions and revenue cycle solutions provider Vaughan Holland Consulting created a combined company called Revint Solutions.

7. R1 RCM and Phreesia are joining forces to improve patient experience.

8. Alpharetta, Ga.-based nThrive, a patient-to-payment solution company, rebranded three solutions to expand the nThrive brand to previous MedAssets and Precyse solutions.

9. PatientKeeper, a Waltham, Mass.-based provider of healthcare clinical and financial applications, revealed a new version of its electronic physician charge capture solution.

10. Parsippany, N.J.-based revenue cycle management company Med-Metrix, Edison, N.J.-based Hackensack Meridian Health and Philadelphia-based Jefferson Health's New Jersey hospitals are coming together for a joint venture called Medi-Centrix.

11. Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare will use R1 RCM's Revenue Capture module systemwide.

12. Streamline Health Solutions, an Atlanta-based revenue cycle management solutions provider, sold its eValuator automated pre-bill auditing software to a hospital system client on the West Coast.

13. Rochester, Minn.-based Olmsted Medical Center is upgrading its IT to the Epic EHR and revenue cycle management system.

14. CareCloud and First Data have together unveiled Breeze, a new platform to help healthcare practices manage patient experience.

15. Allscripts completed its acquisition of McKesson's Enterprise Information Solutions business.

16. Stryker's Performance Solutions healthcare transformation business launched a consulting service for orthopedic physician practices.

17. QueueLogix, a Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based healthcare software and services company, launched a LiveSuite Mobile app focused on revenue cycle improvement.
