Texas Health to build new hospital

Texas Health Resources plans to build a hospital in Willow Park, expanding its presence in North Texas.

The facility will be constructed near Texas Health Neighborhood Care & Wellness Willow Park and Texas Health Orthopedic & Spine Surgery Center Willow Park, creating a medical campus in the area, according to an Aug. 28 health system news release. It is slated to open in 2028.

The new hospital will house Texas Hip and Knee, a Texas Health Physicians Group orthopedic practice specializing in complex joint replacement.

The project is part of Texas Health’s growth strategy across the region. Other active construction projects include an eight-story tower at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano and Texas Health Hospital Forney, the city’s first acute care hospital.

An estimated project cost and a bed count for the hospital were not available, a health system spokesperson told Becker’s.
