Along with the hospital — which will include an emergency room and a labor and delivery department — a medical office building will be built on the campus, according to an Aug. 15 news release from the health system.

Kaufman County and Forney, Texas, are among the fastest-growing counties and cities, respectively, in the U.S., according to census data cited in the release.

The Forney hospital is expected to create several hundred jobs, the release said.

Because the hospital is in the design phase, Texas Health did not have an estimated project cost to share, a system spokesperson said.
