Here are three things to know.

1. LGH’s new surgical center will be named in honor of Richard and Marilyn Santagati of Andover, Mass. The couple has long been supportive of the hospital.

2. The $54 million surgical center, which is slated to open early next year, will include seven surgical suites as well as specialized imaging and video capability, lighting and air-handling technology; an onsite pathology lab; expanded space for pre- and post- surgical care; and enhanced waiting areas, according to LGH.

3. Other upcoming components of the hospital’s master facility plan slated to open in 2017 include a new surgical day care unit, central sterile processing department and family/visitor waiting area, hospital officials said.
