Sacred Heart Hospital concludes $30M expansion

Miramar, Fla.-based Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast completed a $30 million expansion of several of its maternity, emergency department and inpatient services to meet increasing demand.

The completed patient care areas will open Jan. 10. The inpatient expansion includes 12 inpatient rooms and 12 postpartum rooms, with the number of inpatient beds totaling 76. The ED expansion includes 12 rooms and an eight-room unit to service patients in need of observation. Added rooms to the hospital’s Family Birth Place nearly double the previous capacity for maternity services.   

Sacred Heart is part of Pensacola, Fla.-based Sacred Heart Health System and a member of St. Louis-based Ascension.
