The hotel will be owned and operated by Premier Hotel Properties. Guests will be able to access the hospital from the hotel through an underground tunnel, according to the report.

“We are not competing for the downtown leisure and business travel hotel business,” said Mark Platt, senior vice president of business services at Gundersen, according to the report. “We’re looking to figure out how to better take care of our patients and better take care of our patients’ families.”

Construction will begin in September and is expected to be completed by July.
