The Commonwealth Health Heart & Vascular Institute will find its new home on Regional Hospital’s second floor, which now houses conference rooms and a physical therapy department. Both will be moved to a nearby hospital-owned building to make room for the new 12,000-square-foot center.

Plans for the institute include three catheterization labs, an electrophysiology lab, 10 private prep and recovery rooms and five post-anesthesia bays where patients can recover from anesthesia.

Construction for the project is already underway with completion set for early 2017.

The first addition to the instititute, completed last month, is a new endovascular suite and hybrid operating room.
