The donation raises the hospital’s fundraising total to $85 million. Though short of Nantucket’s $89 million goal, the hospital said it is hoping to surpass the goal and add on-campus staff housing to its project.

The hospital is located on an island and currently owns fewer than a dozen housing units for about 250 full-time workers.
