The surgical clinic was moved from Carthage Area Hospital’s professional building, also in Carthage, N.Y., back to the hospital’s main campus, bringing the surgical unit and its surgeons under the same roof as the hospital’s ambulatory surgical unit, laboratory and medical imaging facilities.
The hospital will also add two general surgeons to its payroll to staff the new unit.
“Months in development, this investment puts our patients first while improving their access to quality surgical care in the local area,” Carthage Area Hospital CEO Richard Duvall told the Watertown Daily Times.
