Brooks Memorial Hospital selects site for new $67M hospital

Dunkirk, N.Y.-based Brooks Memorial Hospital has selected a site in New York for its new $67 million hospital, according to The Buffalo News.

The new hospital, which will replace the aging Dunkirk facility, will be located the Town of Pomfret, N.Y., about seven miles from the current hospital. The new 100,000-square-foot facility will house 29 beds, four operating rooms, two procedure rooms and an 11-bay emergency department. This new project is part of a transformation plan to hasten the merger between Brooks Memorial and Irving, N.Y-based TLC Health Network, according to the report.

Brooks Memorial Hospital's proposal for the new facility still needs approval from the state prior to beginning construction.

The hospital expects the review process, engineering, design and construction of the hospital to take between 18 to 24 months.
