The following hospital and health system executive moves were announced or made in the last week. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. Gallipolis, Ohio-based Holzer Health System named Amy Showalter CNO.

2. Buffalo, N.Y.-based Catholic Medical Partners, part of Buffalo-based Catholic Health System, selected Michael Edbauer, DO, to succeed Dennis R. Horrigan as CEO after Mr. Horrigan retires at the end of 2015.

3. James H. Hobson, CEO of CHI Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn., will retire July 12.

4. Bethany M. Gilboard was chosen to serve as CEO of the joint venture between Albany, N.Y.-based St. Peter's Health Partners and Schenectady, N.Y.-based Ellis Medicine.

5. John Harney, president and CEO of University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, announced he will retire June 30.

6. Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic Health system named Brian A. Gragnolati president and CEO, effective May 4.

7. Mary Wakefield, PhD, RN, one of the country's leading rural health advocates, will assume the position of acting deputy secretary of HHS, the department's No. 2 post.

8. Seth Whitmer, CEO of Morton (Wash.) General Hospital, was terminated from his role Wednesday.

9. Freeman (S.D.) Regional Health Services named Nick Brandner CEO.

10. NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System in New York City named Michael Nochomovitz, MD, senior vice president and chief clinical integration and network development officer.

11. Atlanta-based Emory Healthcare announced the appointment of Michael J. Mandl as president and CEO.

12. Annapolis, Md.-based RiverMend Health announced the appointment of Jennifer Hall as CFO.

13. Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kan., named Joyce Soule, CNO.

14. Houston-based CHI St. Luke's Health announced the appointment of Stephen Moore, MD, as its CMO, effective April 6.

15. Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford and Stanford Children's Health in Palo Alto, Calif., announced that Dana Haering is its new CFO.

16. Little Rock, Ark.-based CHI St. Vincent Healthcare named Chad Aduddell interim market CEO.

17. Fayetteville, Tenn.-based Lincoln County Health System named Elizabeth Lemons and Bailey Pratt interim CEO and CFO, respectively.

18. John Remillard, CEO of Oneonta, N.Y.-based A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, part of Cooperstown, N.Y.-based Bassett Healthcare Network, will retire Dec. 31.

19. Robert P. Granger, president and CEO of St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Ga., resigned.

20. Stanford (Calif.) Medicine announced Dennis Lund, MD, will serve as CMO of Stanford Children's Health and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford in Palo Alto, Calif., beginning March 16.

21. Detroit-based Together Health Network named Scott Eathorne, MD, CEO.

22. Flagstaff-based Northern Arizona Healthcare named Robert Thames CEO, effective April 13.

23. St. Charles Health System, based in Bend, Ore., named Jennifer Welander CFO.

24. Hancock, Mich.-based Upper Peninsula Health System-Portage named Jeff Lang CEO. Mr. Lang's tenure began March 9.

25. Lee Johannsen, MD, will become the first CMO of Central Texas Medical Center in San Marcos.

26. Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center selected Paul O'Sullivan to be its next CEO, effective April 6.

27. Diana Hendel, CEO of Long Beach (Calif.) Memorial Medical Center, announced her resignation.

28. Seattle Children's Hospital named Jeff Sperring, MD, as its new CEO, effective early May 2015.
