WalletHub: 10 states with best access to healthcare

Maine residents have the best access to healthcare services of any state in the country, according to personal finance website WalletHub.

WalletHub compared all 50 states and the District of Columbia across 43 different measures of healthcare cost, accessibility and outcomes. Measures related to access included hospital beds per capita, physicians per capita and average emergency room wait time.

Here are the top 10 states/regions for healthcare access:

  2. Massachusetts
  3. District of Columbia
  4. Minnesota
  5. Rhode Island
  6. Wisconsin
  7. West Virginia
  8. New Hampshire
  9. North Dakota
  10. Nebraska
