Northern Maine Medical Center (Fort Kent). The 49-bed, fully accredited Northern Maine Medical Center features a six-bed intensive care unit and a child, adolescent and adult inpatient psychiatric unit. The hospital, opened in 1952, affiliates with 48 physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners. The National Rural Health Association recognized Northern Maine Medical Center as a 2017 Top 20 Rural Community Hospital.
