Demand soars for these medical professionals in 13 states

Physician assistants and nurse practitioners represent the top fastest-growing jobs in 13 states, according to a CareerBuilder analysis cited by MarketWatch.

To determine the top high growth job in each state, CareerBuilder examined data from EMSI, a labor-market research firm, and looked at 774 occupations classified by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Physician assistant jobs are projected to grow the most between 2018 and 2023 in Wisconsin, Virginia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota and Ohio.

Nurse practitioner jobs are projected to grow the most during that period in Washington, Connecticut, Arizona, Pennsylvania and Texas.
