Pennsylvania’s Reading Hospital CEO Resigns, Citing New Physician-Led Structure

Scott R. Wolfe has submitted his resignation as president and CEO of 463-bed Reading (Pa.) Hospital, citing a new administrative structure emphasizing a physician-led organization, according to a report by the Reading Eagle.

The hospital is identifying needs and refining communications between primary care physicians and specialists, to be completed in the fall, said Chairman of the Board C. Thomas Work.

He said the board will consider a half-dozen to a dozen candidates for the CEO position from outside the area.

Mr. Wolfe was named CEO in 2007 after 15 years in the hospital’s senior management and 20 years at Reading Hospital.
